Code of Conduct

We recognize that each of us is a role model to our students and children. We believe in holding ourselves to a high standard of conduct; we cannot teach what we do not display.

Our staff, parents and guardians should always be respectful and calm with each other and the students. Disrespectful, disruptive, threatening, uncooperative or inappropriate conduct is never acceptable. Teachers and staff members who display such behavior risk discipline and termination. Parents who display such behavior risk their child’s expulsion from the program. Parents should recognize that there may be occasions to hold certain conversations with staff privately away from the students.

Arrival Procedures

Please park and escort your child into the school building and sign your child in. When your family is set up on our system, you will receive a unique code that will allow you to open the inner vestibule door. You will also receive a user ID and password with which you will electronically log your child in for the day at our attendance kiosk; you will also sign the attendance log. Please do not arrive before your scheduled time.

Departure and Sign-out Procedures

Please allow yourself sufficient travel time to pick up your child on-time. At pick-up time, please let a staff member know that you have arrived before you sign your child out using your ID and password. If our staff does not know you or an authorized person, you will be asked to show identification. Please be prepared for this until we get to know you. This is for your child’s protection.

Parking

Parking can be somewhat tight. We ask that you show other families consideration and remember that our parking lot runs one way only – enter from Route 183 and depart from McMullen Street from which it is a quick left turn and a quick right turn to get back onto Route 183. Parking on Route 183 – even just for a quick drop off – is never allowed by the town police. During special events such as open house and holiday festivities, overflow parking is available at the large Stroud Excavating lot next door. We have created a landscaped area and a small footbridge for you to use to get to the school; please do not cut through the trees or the planted areas.

Absences

Please call the school if your child will be absent for any reason. If your child is ill please share with us their symptoms so we can observe other children and inform other parents.
