Language Development
Overview
Language development is of key importance during the preschool years. It lays the foundation for the further development of children’s cognitive skills and social and emotional maturity. During this time listening, speaking, reading and writing develop concurrently (together) rather than sequentially (one after the other). Language development prepares children for further literacy work in school.
